Evaluation Representation

In my magazine I have represented teenage music fans as laid-back, demonstrated in my chosen photo’s used throughout the magazine and used in the article wherein the interview is written in a mostly casual style. The musicians in the article are represented in a similar way influencing they way the readers - teenage music fans are represented. The magazine is not designed in a way that seems like it is speaking down to teenagers.
Due to the vague demographic of the magazine it primarily focuses on the music and leaves out most mentions of other products though my research focused on fashionable teenage interests, mostly of things not generally associated with a specific gender.
The magazine almost exclusively focuses on music and is not aimed at either gender in particular or any other demographic more particular than teenagers meaning that it avoids confronting or reinforcing stereotypes in general while still being focused on a specific age, I also included a variety of music to avoid the stereotypes that music fans are averse to other forms of music than their preference.
The main difference is that they are shown more dynamically in real publications, and highlighted by the background of the media. The first example shows the cover person in a sad, mysterious way. The second portrays the two older people as angrier, both differ heavily from the laid back portrayal in my magazine

Evaluation Target Audience

My target audience are teenagers, the psychographics for them include lifestyle: restaurants they would eat at include McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Burger King and KFC. Stores they would shop at include Game, CEX, and HMV. Music that they listen to includes Maroon 5 and Daft Punk. Popular films among teenagers at the moment include Jurassic World, Star Wars VII, Mad Max and Inside Out. They tend to buy DVD’s, Games, Fast Food etc. They likely watch television through Sky or a streaming service such as Netflix.  Stereotypically the attitude is portrayed as one somewhat apathetic to most issues but fond of media such as television and music.
They would likely buy my magazine due to the wide variety of information on popular music, furthermore as the magazine establishes itself it can branch out into other related subject in articles.
If the magazine establishes a sufficiently large reader base many companies popular with teenagers may seek to use it for advertising – any of the above companies included.
